Nomak is a multi-talented artist in Japan who creates his work by using “nature”, “culture” and “peace” as sources of inspiration. Music is currently the main outlet of his expression but he also plans to extend his horizons by engaging in photography, design and other creative work.
His music boasts originality by fusing together an exciting variety of sounds from both traditional Japanese and modern instruments. Brought up in the beautiful natural surroundings of Japan, Nomak’s instinct for creating music developed at an early age. Aside from producing music, he engages in a wide range of activities such as artwork on the covers of his CSs and records, as well as his website, managing his own label Huge Soul, and participating in social work programs in Japan.
His performance in the ‘Stop Rokkasho’ project in 2006 received much acclaim, even before his first official release. In 2007, his debut album ‘Calm’ was ranked remarkably hight in both the i-Tunes rankings, and Oricon Charts (music chart in Japan). In 2009, Nomak was selected as one of the artists to join the event, ‘EAR TO THE GROUND: TOKYO’ by LimeWire, which features artists from worldwide. His work has also been broadcast on Japanese television as the background music of Japanese drama series, documentaries and commercials. His most recent release was ‘Make a Change’ featuring Pulie Rhyme, which is available on iTunes.
